SSA Advertising Donation Program

The Steamship Authority is excited to offer our Advertising Donation Program to collaborate with charitable organizations in our local port communities.

We launched this program in 2025 to overwhelming response, so we're back this year with more donation spots to offer eligible nonprofits!

What it is 

We are offering three-month placements in our popular on-vessel poster program to eligible nonprofits free of charge. We'll even cover the printing costs! 

We've designated spaces for this program and we'll randomly award them after the entry period has passed. Poster placements will be offered May-July, August-October, and November-January 2027. 

Who's eligible? 

If you’re a charitable organization that is registered with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, and has a principal place of business in Barnstable Town, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Falmouth, and New Bedford, you’re eligible to enter!

How will the lottery run?

We will solicit entries through March 15, 2026. Once that period ends, every entry will receive a random number placement. We will then start verifying eligibility and assigning ad spots until everything is given away. If any nonprofits decline the spot or don't turn in their ads on time, we'll award vacant spots to the next nonprofits in line. 

Nonprofits can enter to get a spot on the Woods Hole-Martha's Vineyard run or the Hyannis-Nantucket run — or both! Each route will get its own lottery, so you might get a poster spot on both routes!

Other things to know

The Steamship Authority will not design your posters for you — you must do that in accordance with our Advertising Policy and poster specs. The May-July posters will be due to the Authority by April 15, 2026, and the remaining posters will be due by May 1, 2026. 

Poster specs

  • All print files must be 300 dpi or higher and in CMYK format.
  • We accept PDF, TIFF, JPEG, EPS, or PNG.
  • We highly recommend outlining or that you rasterize any font or type to help ensure a proper output.
  • Posters: Dimensions: 22” x 28”  Bleed: 23” x 29” Safe Area: 20” x 26”
