Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor
The Steamship Authority is seeking to fill the full-time, permanent, non-union position of Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor in the Engineering and Maintenance Department in Falmouth, MA. The function of this position is to maintain all buses and other Steamship Authority rolling stock in good mechanical condition; schedule and supervise repairs and preventative maintenance of all Steamship Authority vehicles, portable compressors/generators/lights, rolling stock (backage carts and dollies, etc.) and other equipment so designated.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare budget for parts and labor necessary to maintain and repair all Authority vehicles, rolling stock, and miscellaneous equipment.
* Keep all buses in good mechanical condition and inspect all buses each morning prior to operation.
* Accomplish preventative and corrective maintenance as required on vehicles, and schedule and coordinate state inspections.
* Supervise, schedule, and order parts and equipment for corrective and preventative maintenance of all Authority vehicles.
* Review vehicle accident reports for insurance agency, police and registry. Ensure information is entered into the TAG database.
* Maintain schedules, maintenance records, and man-hours for the Authority's vehicle fleet within the Maximo database.
* Coordinate snow plowing and sanding operations.
* Supervise unionized employees assigned to the vehicle maintenance facility.
* Perform other duties as directed by the Director of of Engineering and Maintenance.
Required Knowledge:
The applicant must possess a high school diploma and a Class "B" driver's license and must be an experienced mechanic (gas and diesel). Applicant must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and be capable of learning to use the TAG CMMS program.
