2026 Sail into Imagination Art Contest

2026 Contest Theme: The Sea and Me 

All of us have a special connection to the sea. For many of us it's how we get home, or maybe it's how we get to see friends and family. It gives our region its special magic. It's the last thing we see when we leave and the first thing we look for when we come back. 

This year, use the theme The Sea and Me to share your connections to the sea and the Steamship Authority. Artwork should feature an SSA ferry in some way, but otherwise you can interpret our theme as you wish. 

We can't wait to see what you come up with and who gets chosen to be featured in our 2027 calendar! 

ALL ENTRIES WILL BE ENTERED INTO A GRAND PRIZE DRAWING!

Winning entries will be featured in a 2027 Steamship Authority calendar and will be displayed on the SSA website and selected ferries. Gift cards for Steamship Authority passenger travel will also be awarded to at least 13 student winners from any town on Cape Cod, plus residents of Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Fairhaven or New Bedford. Original entries must not be folded, and framed art must be removeable in order to be reproduced. Due to issues with reproduction, pastels will not be accepted.

ALL ARTWORK MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH A COMPLETED ENTRY FORM BY MAY 29, 2026, VIA ANY OF THE FOLLOWING METHODS

Email a clear digital photo, scan, or digital file no larger than 3 MB and entry form to sailintoimagination@steamshipauthority.com.

Drop off completed artwork and entry form off at any Steamship Authority terminal.
