FALMOUTH (August 27, 2019) – Alison A. Fletcher has been named the new Director of Shoreside Operations at the Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority (the “SSA”). Her appointment was effective Monday, August 26, 2019.

Alison A. FletcherMs. Fletcher has been an SSA employee since 2001, when she first worked as a seasonal ticket seller. She later served as a janitor and dock worker before becoming an Associate Terminal Agent in Woods Hole in 2015. For the last several months, she has been working in the Operations Department and has been a member of the project team that is developing the materials in the SSA’s Learning Management System.

As Director of Shoreside Operations, Ms. Fletcher will oversee the day-to-day activities of the terminals, parking lot operations and reservations teams operations. In addition, Ms. Fletcher will assist in development of operating schedules, expansion of training programs and the transition to a process-based environment with the implementation of a Quality Management System.

Ms. Fletcher succeeds former Operations Director Mark K. Rozum, who was recently promoted to Treasurer/Comptroller for the Authority; the duties and title of that position were realigned to focus on the SSA’s landside assets following the creation of the Director of Marine Operations position, which was filled this year by Mark H. Amundsen.

“Alison has spent her career at the SSA becoming immersed in nearly every aspect of our shoreside operations, making her an ideal candidate to join our management team,” said General Manager Robert B. Davis. “The SSA was lucky enough to have several strong candidates for this position; however, Alison stood out due to her familiarity with the intricacies of our shore-side operations. I have no doubt she will excel in this position.”

“I am thankful for the opportunity be taking on this new role at the Steamship Authority,” Ms. Fletcher said. “I am eager to help lead the organization into an exciting new era by being part of the team that is developing process-based management systems”

Ms. Fletcher resides in Mattapoisett.
